I once had a ‘new’ senior manager who was earlier a mere business development in one of the so called ‘Magnificent Seven’,he knew how to talk the talk and he spiced up his resume. I tried to prevent the disaster, but there was no luck, tens of projects failed in addition to other issues that were very nasty. The damage in 14 months might have exceeded $1 million. The cost of succh "bad hire" in the AI era is even higher. I came across Mahala.ai, which claims to match companies with vetted senior Data/AI talent and handle some of the hiring/admin overhead. In theory this should reduce noise for both sides, but I’m curious whether marketplaces like this actually improve signal quality, or just add another layer between candidates and hiring managers. Thoughts?
